What You Get in a £495 Care Provider Compliance Review
Updated: Oct 11
A provider may already have audits, policies and incident logs yet still struggle to answer a practical question: which gap should we tackle first, who owns it, and how will we know the change worked? The £495 Care Provider Compliance Review is designed around that decision. It is a defined remote package for care providers in England, with a written priority action plan and one follow-up call.
Before the meeting: agree the evidence sample
You complete a pre-review questionnaire so we understand your service, your questions and the areas worrying you. We agree which compliance evidence to look at, how it can be shared, when the written plan will be delivered and how the follow-up will work. Preparation and review of that sample are included separately from the one-hour meeting; your booked hour is for the discussion itself.
The sample matters. An audit result alone may say “action needed”, while an action log and a few related records show whether the team responded and checked the result. We focus on the agreed material and flag when a question needs work beyond this package. We do not claim to inspect every record, observe all practice or stand in for CQC.
During the one-hour review: agree what matters most
The remote meeting gives you room to explain the context behind the paperwork. We discuss the evidence reviewed, urgent risks or gaps and realistic priorities. For a care service, a sensible priority may involve practice as well as records: an audit can be complete on paper while the underlying concern continues. We look for a route from finding to action to a later check, rather than adding another checklist with no owner.
This reflects the purpose of CQC Regulation 17 on good governance: effective systems should assess and improve quality and safety, manage risks, keep appropriate records and use feedback to improve. The regulation applies to the registered provider; an independent review helps organise your response but does not take over that responsibility.
After the meeting: a written priority action plan
The plan turns the agreed findings into next steps you can allocate and track. It prioritises the gaps identified in the sampled evidence, with an owner, target date and evidence to retain or check, as appropriate. We agree the delivery date before work starts. The package also includes one follow-up call to discuss progress and remaining questions under the arrangements agreed in advance.
Here is a fictional example of how one action could be framed, not a finding about your service: a domiciliary care provider’s late-visit log shows recurring delays, but its management audit does not record whether people were contacted or whether a rota change helped. A priority action might be for the manager to check the affected records and contact arrangements, record the action taken, set a date to review a new sample and keep evidence of the result. The facts, urgency and responsibilities would depend on the real service and agreed evidence.
The written plan is a working guide for the provider to implement. Additional implementation work or a broader review would be agreed and priced separately. No consultant can promise a particular CQC rating.

Quick questions
Is the plan included in the £495 price? Yes. The pre-review questionnaire, agreed evidence review, one-hour remote meeting, written priority action plan and one follow-up call are included in that package.
What if I only need help identifying urgent gaps? The £249 Compliance Snapshot provides preparation and a one-hour remote discussion of an agreed evidence sample. It does not include this full written plan and follow-up.
Can we discuss the scope before paying? Yes. Book a free 30-minute consultation. We can agree a suitable scope and timing; a smaller tailored price may be available where appropriate.
Looking Glass Care is independent and is not affiliated with CQC.
